Wind mills are set up in huge numbers in large areas of land. This is called the wind farm or wind energy farm. Wind energy farms can be used to produce electricity and it is environmental friendly. But there are a few limitations of using wind energy:-
• Wind mills need a lot of maintenance as they have to withstand heavy rains, the harsh sunlight, etc.
• They cannot be setup everywhere as there is a certain speed of wind required to make the wind mill's blades move.

A wind energy farm is place where there are provisions to harness the energy of wind using windmills in large numbers. Such farms are put up in places where the wind blows mostly constant throughout the year predictably in required amount.
Application:
Wind energy farms can be used to generate electricity in a clean way.
Limitations:
Wind energy farms can be set up only at some specific places because it needs large area and also the amount of wind speed required should be strong and steady . The minimum wind speed necessary for satisfactory working of a wind generator is about 15km/h
