xylem:the vascular tissue in plants which conducts water and dissolved nutrients upwards from the roots and also helps to form woody element in system.
phloem:the vascular tissue in plants which conducts sugar and other metabolic products downwards from the leaves.

xylem work as transport water from root to leaves and phloem work as transport food from leaves to root
this is easy to understand difference between xylem and phloem
