Use a broom instead of a hose to sweep sidewalks and driveways. Install a low-flow showerhead. When washing the car, use a hose with an on/ off nozzle or use buckets of rinse water. Turn off the water when it is not in use. Don’t leave it running when brushing teeth. Turn off the water between soaps and rinses when washing hands. Water lawns in the mornings or evenings when water will not evaporate as quickly. Make sure the water lands on vegetation and not on streets or sidewalks. If possible, save rainwater for watering lawns. Run the dishwasher or washing machine only with a full load. If you need to run water before it becomes hot, store the cool running water in a bottle for use in rinsing dishes, and washing vegetables and hands. Keep a bottle of cold drinking water in the refrigerator instead of running water until it becomes cool. When washing dishes by hand, use a sink full of rinse water rather than letting the water run. Limit shower time to 5 minutes or less. Fix leaks!

Here is your answer-

Water conservation includes all the policies, strategies and activities to sustainably manage the natural resource of fresh water, to protect the hydrosphere, and to meet the current and future human demand. Population, household size, and growth and affluence all affect how much water is used.

Measures:-

• Plant you garden in the spring and you can save since water requirement levels are less during this season.

• Do not use water to defrost foods. Although many people do use this method it requires a lot of water consumption to do this.

• Check for leaks. This includes the toilet and the sinks in the home. Even a small leak could cause an extensive amount of extra water usage and more money added to the water bill.

• Keep water in a jug in the fridge instead of running the tap when you want water.

• Minimize the amount of time spent watering the lawn. Ensure that you are watering it only when needed.

• When watering the lawn ensure that the sprinkler system is set the right way so you are not watering the gutters and watering other things that you do not want to water.

• Rainwater harvesting is used by many people and it could prove to be beneficial to you, too. Consider it!

• Do you know how to shut off your water system in the event of an emergency? If not it is time to learn how to do this.

• Cut off the water supply to any areas in the home that you are not using.

• Do not plant in areas that are hard to water.

Hope it helps you..!
