Step-by-step explanation:

The mean of a data set is found by adding all numbers in the data set and then dividing by the number values in the set.

The median is the middle value when a data is ordered from least to greatest .

The mode is the number that occurs most often in a data set

Median : It is the middle number of any data set when the set is arranged in the ascending or descending order .

Formula for median : (n+1)/2.

Mode : It is the number which occurs most of the times in the data set.

Mean : It is the average of the numbers present in the data set.

Formula for mean : Sum of all observations/No. of observations.

For example: The data set is :

1, 2, 3 , 3, 4, 6, 9.

Here, the median = (7+1)/2th term. = 8/2th term.

= 4th term.

So, the median is 3 ( As the numbers are already arranged in the ascending order ).

Mode : Here, 3 appears for the most times. So, 3 is the mode of this data set.

Mean : (1+2+3+3+4+6+8)/7.

= 28/7.

= 4.

Hence, the mean of this data set is 4.
