For ungrouped data:

Median = [(n+1)/2]th observation(If n is odd)

Median = mean of (n/2)th observation and [(n/2)+1]th observation(If n is even)

STEP:1

WRITE THE NUMBERS IN ASCENDING OR DESCENDING ORDER..

23,25,26,30,40,50

STEP:2

HERE,

n is 6..which is even number...

So,

MEDIAN

=Mean of [(n/2)th term + {(n/2)+1}]th term

=Mean of [(6/2)th term + {(6/2)+1}]th term

=Mean of 3th term +(3+1)th term

=Mean of 3rd term + 4th term

=26+30/2

=56/2

=28
