Hi there!
□ Memory is any physical device which is capable of storing information temporarily or permanently.
□ There are mainly two types of memory.
■ the first is RAM which stands for Random Access Memory. It is temporary memory and works faster than ROM.
■ And the second is ROM which stands for Read only memory. This a permanent memory and works Somewhat slower than RAM.
I hope this helps ...

Memory is any physical device which is able to store information temporarily or permanently. memory is like a human brain .
Their are 3 types of memory:
1) cache memory , it is a high speed memory which can even speed up the memory of CPU it act a buffer between the CPU and the main memory.
2) Primary memory or main memory, it holds the data and instructions on which the computer is currently working it also has a limited capacity. Once the information get lost the power gets switched off. It is basically made of semiconductor devices. It is divided into two sub categories RAM and ROM.
3) secondary memory, it is also known as external memory or non- volatile memory, this is slower than main memory it is used for storing data on permanently basis.
