Cross Pollination:
The transfer of pollen grains from the anther of one plant to the stigma of another plant is called Cross Pollination.
This is the only type of pollination which brings genetically different types of pollen grains to the stigma.
It is also called as Xenogamy.
{Although the transfer of pollen grains from the anther to the stigma of another flower of the same plant(Geitonogamy) is also functionally cross pollination involving a pollinating agent, genetically it is similar to autogamy(self pollination), since the pollen grains come from the same plant.}

When the pollen grains from the anther of a flower on one plant are transferred to the stigma of a flower on another similar plant , it is called cross pollination.See in the diagram how cross pollination happens between them.
