Discrimination means treating a person unfairly because of who they are or because they possess certain characteristics. If you have been treated differently from other people only because of who you are or because you possess certain characteristics, you may have been discriminated against.
In everyday life, when faced with more than one option, we discriminate in arriving at almost every decision we make. But in the context of civil rights law, unlawful discrimination refers to unfair or unequal treatment of an individual (or group) based on certain characteristics, including: Age. Disability. Ethnicity.

Hi there!!
What is discrimination?
Discrimination is an act or treatment of differentiation or separation of people. People can be discriminated by the virtue of caste, race, religion, gender, colour, disabilities, etc. Discrimination is no longer encouraged, but it still continues in many rural areas. Women are discriminated, because people think they are the ones who are only supposed to take care or their houses and family. Men are usually thought of earning bodies of the family, but nowadays women are competing with men like never before. People are discriminated even if they are poor. As you must know, about the cast system, the people of the lower castes weren't allowed many things. Religion is again another topic for discrimination. People sometimes try to avoid other people of a different religion. And of course, colour. Racism is a very big problem of ours. We sometimes avoid people who are a little dark, but this is not good. We should not encourage discrimination.
Hope it helps!
