The Bond Story -Antonio signs a bond on behalf of Bassanio of 3000 ducats to Shylock, with a penalty of a pound of flesh taken away from his body if he fails to repay the bond. Eventually he does fail, because his ships were rumored to be wrecked while returning.
The Casket Story - Portia, the rich heir of Belmont, has been left with values by her father, with a choice of her marriage, based on the lottery of caskets. Each suitor must choose a right casket within the golden, silver and leaden casket. If he fails to choose , the suitor must leave the place, and never marry any other woman. If he wins, then he get his hand in marriage to portia.
