Heyya!

Mesosome is a special membrane structure, formed by the extension of the plasma membrane into the cell in a prokaryotic cell.

It helps in cell wall formation, DNA replication and its distribution to daughter cells. It also helps in respiration, secretion process, to increase the surface area of the plasma membrane and enzymatic content.

Hope it helps!☺
