every organism is made of chemicals and these chemicals undergo reactions continuously.

the sum total chemical reactions in an organism is known as metabolism.

metabolism is of two types.,

• anabolism - constuctive process. eg; photosynthesis
• catabolism - destructive process. eg; respiration
