Metals are the substances which have these following properties

•They are sonorous,it means they produce sound when they are hit.

•They are good conductors of heat and electricity.

•They are malleable,means they can be bitten into thin sheets.

•They have a lustrous shine.

•They are ductile,means they can be made into thin wires.

•Metals are reactive in nature.

•They are solid in room temperature.

•They have a high tensile strength.

•They have strong resistance to heat.

Non metals don't have these properties mentioned above.( some non metals are also reactive).
