metalloids- the substances which have the characteristics of both metals and non metals.
metals- substances which are malleable, ductile, hard, lustrous & have high melting and boiling point.
non metals- substances which are in gases liquids non malleable non ductile soft are called non metals.
noble gas- gases which are least reactive are called noble gases.

The elements which have high tendency to loose electrons are metals. the elements which have the tendencies to gain electrons are nonmetals.and the elements which have the properties of metals,nonmetals are metallized.elements which have 8 electrons in their valence shell are noble gases.
