Metamerism :-

Metamerism is the type of isomerism in which compounds having same molecular formula , same molecular weight , differ in the arrangement of alkyl groups around the polyvalent atom or polyvalent group .

  • Monovalent groups and atom do not show metamerism .
  • Compounds showing metamerism are called metamers .
  • They have different alkyl grouping around polyvalent group or atom .
