\implies Newborns or newly hatched young ones continue to grow till they become adults. You would have noticed that newborn mammals, like are human baby, or newly hatched birds are similar in term of shape and structure to their parents.

However, this is not the case in some animals like butterflies, silkworms, frogs, mosquitoes, etc. Their young ones are different from them in term of shape and structure. They go through the various stages of life cycle before developing into an adult.

Life Cycle of a mosquito:- Egg Larva Pupa Adult

Life Cycle of a frog:- Egg Early Tadpole Late Tadpole Adult

In both the cases, you would observe that the intermediate stages, the young ones look very different from the adults. Tadpole looks very different from an adult frog. Similarly, pupa looks very different from adult mosquito.

The transformation of a tadpole into an adult frog or a pupa into an adult mosquito through drastic aur additional changes is called metamorphosis
