The transformation of larva into an adult through sudden drastic changes is termed as metamorphosis.

According to me,

The term metamorphosis cannot be used in describing different stages of human development. Metamorphosis takes place suddenly and drastically. In metamorphosis , the organisms do not resemble to their previous stage of growth in any way. Whereas, in human development , the different stages of life resemble to the previous stage of life in some or the other way.
