   A metro is a short form of metropolitan rapid transit (transport) system. 

  A metro is a metro rail system for transporting public. It is usually on a separate railway line, not mixed with the railway lines between two towns.

  The main purpose and use of the metro transport system is the quick commutation for the working class in the city.

1. Public can reach their popular destinations quicker than buses or other local trains.
2. The metros are cleaner.
3. Metro rails are quicker.
4. Metro rails reduce the traffic congestion in the cities.  This is especially very important during the 7 - 10 am and evening hours 5 to 9 pm.

5. Metro system makes a good connectivity for all the people along the metro lines.
6. Metro rail trains are very frequent. So waiting time is reduced a lot.
7. Metro trains are cleaner transport systems. They use electricity. So there is minimum pollution and ecosystem disturbance.
8. Metro system introduces business partnership between the government and private parties.
9. Metro system generates a lot of employment.
10. Metro system improves economy of the urban area.
