Micro-organism is the general term used for unicellular organisms, whose size ranges within micrometers.

They are so small that we can't see them with our naked eyes that's why we use microscope to see them.

NOTE .: One micrometer is equal to 1000th of a millimeter i.e.

1 \: micrometer =   \frac{1}{1000}  \: mm

or One millionth of a meter

 \frac{1}{1000000}  =  {10}^{ - 6}  \: meter

Examples of microorganism are:

Bacteria, Euglena, Paramecium and Amoeba etc...

These can be observed under microscope by taking few drops of pond water on its slide.

There is Ten times more bacteria on our body than our own total body cells (however because they are very smaller in size as compared to our body cells) we can't realize them.
