It is the seasonal movement of animal in groups. Mainly birds and fish migrate from one Habitat to another for feeding and breeding purposes. Birds migrate due to climatic changes, specially for laying eggs at a safer place. Migration of animal take place at the same time and at the same place every year, for better food and breeding options.

For example,

Siberian cranes migrates from Siberia to Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary (Rajasthan) every year. Similarly, Arctic Terms migrates from north pole to south pole every year.

Some of the advantages and disadvantages of migration are listed below :

Advantages :-

Through migration, birds and animals are able to :

● Avoid harsh climatic conditions.

● Avoid lack of food during winters.

● Enhance there are chances of survival.

Disadvantages :-

Apart from the benefits associated with migration there are a number of drawback to associated to migration. Some of them are :-

● Exposure to predators and harsh weather condition.

● Storms or contrary winds sometimes blow away many spices of birds.
