Minimum needs programme(mnp):
- Minimum needs programme was introduced during 5th five year plan to provide basic needs of the people.
- The main principle is that it should provide needs in the areas which it deserves the most.
- The components are rural health, nutrition, elementary education, water supply, Houses for landless workers etc..,
- All packages should deal with intersectoral coordination.
Basic minimum services programme(bms):
- It was launched by Ministry of housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation.
- The main objective was to provide for dwelling members SC/ST, freed bonded labor and also people in below poverty line by providing them with grant.
- Governement provides 15% of required funds, Sanitary latrines, smokeless chullah, materials for construction etc..,
