It is bounded by double membrane in which outer membrane contains poreswhile inner membrane has folds called cristae. On inner side of cristae F1 particles ( osysomes) are present.
Mitochondria is known as the power house of the cell.because it oxidised food molecules are released energy which is used to form energy molecule ATP (adenosine triphosphate). ATP is known as energy currency of the cell.
