Mitochondria are the cell's power producers. They provide the cell the energy it needs to move.The mitochondria helps process cell division, cell growth, and cell death. The mitochondria is located in the cytoplasm. The mitochondria varies in shape depending on the cell shape. They have double membrane for extra protection in the cell. The outside part of the membrane is very smooth. The inner membrane is rough because of folds inside the mitochondria called cristae. In the cristae the food is mixed with oxygen to produce ATP which is the primary energy source of the cell.
