What is mitochondria? Explain.............

Answer:

It is  a double membraned organelle of which  the inner part is folded inwards to form layers (cristae). the primary function of mitochondria is to generate large quantities of energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP).  Mitochondria  is also known as  the powerhouse of the cell.

They show autonomous nature means they have the capacity to survive on their own.
