Explanation:

mitochondria is a cell organelle which is also known as the powerhouse of cell because it provides the energy performing various daily life activities

oxidative phosphorylation takes place in mitochondria

it has two reasons the outer membrane which is permeable and has less proteins

the inner membrane which is also known as Peri mitochondrial membrane because it has low permeability and high protein .

the infoldings in the mitochondria is known as cristae.

it also provide the genetic inheritance to the embryo

Answer:Mitochondria is a miniature protein factory. It is a double membrane envelop. The outer membrane is soft and fully permeable whereas the inner membrane is thrown into finger like projection called cristae. The inner membrane is semi permeable. The space between inner membrane and outer membrane is called outer chamber and the space between two cristae is called inner chamber. Mitochondria provides a large surface area for ATP generation. ATP is the energy currency of a cell. It is a semi autonomous body as it can synthesis proteins for itself.
