Mitosis is also called equational division is the process of cell division in which the cell divides into two daughter cells and no. of chromosomes in the daughter cells will be the same as in the parent cell.
Example: Mitosis is observed in all normal cells
Meiosis is also called reduction division in which the cell divides into four daughter cells and the no. of chromosomes in the daughter cell will be half the no. of total no. of chromosomes in the parent cell.
Example: Meiosis is observed in gamete cells
