Mitosis is the process in which two daughter cells are produced and no. Of chromosomes in the daughter cells is same as that of parent atom.it occurs in somatic cells.
Meiosis is the process in which 4 daughter cells are produced hence no.of chromosomes is half the no. Present in the parent cell.it occurs in cells responsible in reproduction.
