What is Mitosis and Miosis? Give an example for each

Mitosis and meiosis. ... When a cell divides by way of mitosis, it produces two clones of itself, each with the same number of chromosomes. When a cell divides by way of meiosis, it produces four cells, called gametes. Gametes are more commonly called sperm in males and eggs in females.

Mitosis is the cell division that occurs in somatic cells in which twodaughter cells are formed at the end of the division and the no of chromosomes remain the same as that of the parent cell
Eg somatic cells

Meiosis is the cell division that occurs in which which four daughter cells are formed at the end of the division and the number of chromosomes in the daughters are reduced to half as that of the parents cell
