Mitosis is a mod of cell division in which the daughter cells are genetically similar to the mother cell because their nuclei come to have the samwe number and type of chromosomes as are present in the mother cell.mitosis occurs during formation og body cells .It is therefore . also called somatic cell divison .As the daughter cells resemble thier mother cell genetically ,mitosis is also called duplicate division and equational divison

Mitosis is known as the Equational division of a cell . It happens as follows .
the usual method of cell division, characterized typically by the resolving of the chromatin of the nucleus into a threadlike form, which condenses into chromosomes, each of which separates longitudinally into two parts, one part of each chromosome being retained in each of two new cells resulting from the original cell.
