1) Simple ketones- The ones in which both the alkyl groups are same. for e.g- CH3-C=O-CH3 so, its common name will be dimethyl ketone & IUPAC name will be prop-2-one. 2) Mixed ketones- These are the complex ketones in which both the alkyl groups are not same
