● Mixture is a physical combination of two or more substances.
For example - Air, sugar in water, soil etc.
● In a mixture identities are retained and are mixed in the form of solutions, suspension or colloid.
● Mixtures can be broadly divided into two types :-

• Homogenous mixture - In this type of mixture the composition is uniform and every part is the mixture gas same properties.
For example - Alloys etc.

• Heterogeneous mixtures - In this type of mixture the components can be clearly seen separately, as there are two phases.
For example - Sand in water etc.

✔ it has no visible boundaries of separation between its constituents.

✔ example:- mixture of salt and water.


(2) HETEROGENEOUS :-

✔ it have non - uniform composition.

✔ it has visible boundaries of separation between its constituents.

✔ example :- mixture of sand, sugar, chalk and water.
