Answer:

median gives the middle value of the data.

whereas mode gives the maximum occurring frequency.

if the median comes to the maximum occurring frequency then mode and median will be equal..

hope you understand the concept.

Step-by-step explanation:

As , we know " In statistics, modal class refers to the group of statistical data that is made up of the highest frequencies. It is the class in the frequency distribution table, which is made up of the highest number of data points.

For example,

Numbers Frequency

( 60 - 63 ) 5

( 63 - 66 ) 18

( 66 - 69 ) 28

( 69 - 72 ) 42

( 72 - 75 ) 7

So Modal class = ( 69 - 72 ) as that have maximum frequency ( as 42 )

And

Median class : The total frequency is 5 + 18 + 28 + 42 + 7 = 100

So there are 100 students who obtained numbers in exam .

Now halving 1000, you get 50, so the median occurs on the 50th student down the frequency table.

Now if you add up the first 3 rows you go past the number 50 when you reach the ( 60 - 69 ) numbers group (5 + 18 + 28 = 51 ).

Therefore, the median class interval for the given table = ( 66 - 69 )

So

we can see that both modal class and median class differ from each other .

Answer:

Modal means the one that occurs most often (averages: mode). In maths, the mode is one of the most common ways to describe a set of data. ... The modal class is, therefore, the group with the highest frequency. For example: if you counted the number of pencils in different pencil cases and you decided to group them.

Prepare a table containing less than type cumulative frequency with the help of given frequencies. ... Class-interval of this cumulative frequency is the median class-interval.

difference btw mode and median classes-

median gives the middle value of the data. whereas mode gives the maximum occurring frequency. if the median comes to the maximum occurring frequency then mode and median will be equal.

ex of modal

The Mode is the number which appears most often (there can be more than one mode):

53, 55, 56, 56, 58, 58, 59, 59, 60, 61, 61, 62, 62, 62, 64, 65, 65, 67, 68, 68, 70

62 appears three times, more often than the other values, so Mode = 62

ex of median

To find the Median Alex places the numbers in value order and finds the middle number.

frequency

In this case the median is the 11th number:

53, 55, 56, 56, 58, 58, 59, 59, 60, 61, 61, 62, 62, 62, 64, 65, 65, 67, 68, 68, 70

Median = 61

hope it helps u
