It is the conductivity which is the conducting strength of all the ions produced As one gram mole of a conducting material is decomposed to form a solution. Molar conductivity is denoted by the symbol \lambdam (Greek, lambda). It is related to the conductivity of the solution by the equation:-

  • Molar conductivity:- \lambdam = k/C

Where,

  • K(keppa) is conductivity and C is the concentration of solution in mole per litre.

  • If k is expressed in Sm^-1 and the concentration, C in mole m^-3 then the unit of \lambdam are in Sm²mol^-1.
