A mole is defined as the amount of substance that contains as many molecules, atoms, electrons, ions and other elementary particles.

A mole represents a definite number of particles i.e atoms, molecule, ions or electrons. This definite number is called the Avogadro number which is equal to 6.022×10^23

For example:The molecular mass of ammonia(NH3) is 17.031.Therefore,the mass of 1 mol of ammonia is 17.031 g.

•Number of moles=mass of the element in grams/gram-atomic mass of the element
