The mole is the amount of a substance of a system which contains as many elementary entities as there are atoms in 0.012 kilogram of carbon-12 its symbol is "mol."

HOPE IT HELPS ✌✌

Mole is nothing but a number. Just as we have 1 dozen = 12, 1 mole = 6.022 × 10²³ . 6.022 × 10²³ is also known as Avogadro number.

Let's understand like this,

Suppose someone asked you to get a dozen of banana. You would immediately be able to know that I have to buy "12 bananas". In the very same way, when someone asks to determine 1 mole of Hydrogen atom you should be able to know that 1 mole of anything = 6.022 × 10²³.

Mole term was introduced by Wilhelm Ostwald in about 1896. Mole term means a heap or collection.

Formula to determine mole

1) When mass is given

Mole = Give mass (in grams) ÷ Molar Mass

2) When volume is given (only for gases)

Mole = Volume (in ltrs) ÷ 22.4

3) When no. of molecules/atom is given

Mole = No. of molecules/atom ÷ Avogadro number.
