Molecular phylogeny is the branch of science that helps in tracing the changes in DNA during cell division and accumulated over generations, backwards in time to find out where each change diverged from the other. Closely related organisms have lesser differences in their DNA whereas distantly related organisms have larger number of differences in their DNA.

molecular phylogeny is the mathod which is used to understand the evolutionary history between two organisms of same or different species.
under this mathod the sequence of dna ,rna,or proteins can be compared to know the evolutionary distance between the organisms.
