Mollusca is a phylum in kingdom Animalia which consists of many characteristics as follows-

1) They are soft bodied organism.

2) They have a special organ named radula which is file like rasping or cutting organ with chitinous teeth which are used to cut aquatic grass .

3) They have a sensory organ osphradium to detect chemical nature of water and food .

4) Their body is covered by calcareous exoskeleton.

5) After arthropoda this phylum is the 2nd biggest phylum with around 60000 species.
