Moment of Inertia:—
- Moment of Inertia of a particle about axis of rotation is defined as product of its mass and square of distance from axis of rotation.MI of particle= mr²
- Moment of Inertia is the sum of moment of Inertia of individual particle. I = sigma mr²
- Moment of Inertia plays same role in rotational motion as mass in linear motion.
- Moment of Inertia not only depends on mass but also on distribution of mass from axis of rotation.
