Answer: Linear Momentum or simply " Momentum " of an object / body is the product or multiplication of the mass of the body and the velocity of the body.

Momentum is a vector quantity ie it contains a definite magnitude as well as a definite direction. Now why is it a vector quantity? That is because Momentum is calculated by multiplying a vector (velocity).

Law of conservation of momentum is defined for two or more bodies in an isolated system acting upon each other, their total momentum remains constant unless an external force is applied. Therefore, momentum can neither be created nor destroyed.

Law of conservation of momentum is an important consequence of Newton’s third law of motion.
