Answer:
momentum is defined as product of mass into velocity ....
momentum = mass × velocity
Explanation:
example maan lo tumhe kisi ko thappad maarne hai toh tum ek thappad maarogi khadaa ho ke toh kam chhot lagega but agar run kar ke aaye aur run karte hue hi super women ki tarah asmaan mein udd ke thappad lagaugi toh jyada impact karega ...
Most us define momentum(p) as product mass(m) & velocity(v).
Let us understand what it actually mean,
Consider 2 situations
- You are trying move a car.
- You are moving a book.
Which one do you feel is easier to move.Obviously book.Or in scientific term we can say changing the state(it was at rest you started moving, hence the state of motion changes)of car is more difficult than that of book.
Its basically the inertia(tendency of of an object to remain unchanged in the same state of motion).More the mass more the inertia.Car has more inertia than that of book.
In this case inertia is because of mass.
But if i consider,
- A ball moving with high velocity.
- A ball moving with low velocity.
Suppose the masses of each balls are same, then which one is easier to catch?.Absolutely, ball with low velocity. So in this case difficulty in changing the state of an object is due to velocity.
So,we can conclude that changing the state of an object depends upon both mass and velocity.
This is the concept of momentum.
And you can also say
"momentum is the measure difficultly faced during the change of motion of an object".Or simply "measure of inertia of motion".
The more the mass and velocity of an object the more the momentum. And vice versa.
SI momentum is
