Monohybrid cross :

⚫basically , It is a cross between two parents that have one pair of contrasting characters or two alternative forms of only one character .

⚫for example, a cross between tall (TT or Tt) and dwarf (tt) plants.

⚫the genotype ratio in this cross for F1 generation is 1 , and phenotype ratio is also 1.

✨note :- ⚫genotype :- outer appearing traits or characters which are visible externally such as height or colour of flower.

⚫phenotype :- the genetic constituents which cannot be seen such as heterozygous dominant , homozygous dominant.... etc.

Gregor Mendel crosses two pea plants.

in the monohybrid cross.

Gregor Mendel Cross two pea plants of tall (TT) heights, and short (tt) heights.

and tell them as parental generation

The results of this leds to that all the plants in F1 progeny is dominance tall (Tt).

And

when Mendel Crosses the F1 progeny then Mendel gets 3 tall plants and 1 dwarf plants in the F2 progeny .

And this is called monohybrid cross.
