Monomania is an excessive interest or preoccupation with a single thing or event. It is an obsessive mental condition, where a person has a very limited perspective, of only one subject.
Charlie’s monomania was about the dream he had, of a flight to the moon, in a strange airplane made of telephone wires. His constant repetition of the dream worried everyone around him.
