Events and dates are of most vital importance for History. History may be defined as the chronology of events in the progress of human civilisation, So, obviously the 'event' is in the first place, Then date is inter related with that event. Without date, 'occurrence of events' may be a 'story' only. In History 'Person' is important if that person is an contributor in the occurrence of that event. Take the example Indian freedom movement - 'Quit India movement', was an event , here the date/ year of occurrence is vital. It was a mass movement thousands of person participated in the movement, History as a whole doesn't remember all. Then again the person who led the movement (Gandhiji etc) are important. So all the three are important but 'Events' and 'Dates' come first. In fact, in History - presence of a person has no meaning with out 'events' and it's 'date' of occurrence . I hope the matter is now clear enough.
