What is motion?

The change of position with respect to time is termed as motion.

Explanation:-

Lets suppose an object A moves from it's mean position to another place, say B and covers a distance of 2 m in 1 sec. Thus, one can conclude that the object was in motion.

Kinematics:

Motio means Movement.

Motion means Change in position of an object with respect to some reference point.

Reference point: It is the point from which the change in position is observed.

Frame of reference: The Environment from which motion is observed.

Motion is a RELATIVE TERM.
