The body is said to be in motion, when its position changes with respect to time or surroundings is called Motion.

Motion can be defined as the state of a body when it changes its position from rest according to its surroundings and may include covering of distance and change of velocity.
Motion may take place if a force is applied by a body to the object, be it physical contact or non physical contact.
Ex :- When we apply enough force on a table, it moves ahead. Motion takes place through physical contact.

Ex :- When we bring to magnets together, they either repel or attract. Motion takes place without any physical contact but by through magnetism.
