A body is said to be in motion if its position is continuously changing with respect to a reference point with the passage of time.

Basically, motion is a relative concept and all the motions which we studied is relative motion.

Types of motion,

There are basically three types of motion

1. Translatory Motion- Motion along a straight line.

2. Circular motion- Motion along a circular path.

3. Projectile Motion - Motion along a curved path.

Moreover, if we move towards higher physics, the motion is divided into three main parts

1D motion - Motion along one axis. Like a train.

2D motion- Motion along a plane. Like motion of coins on carrom boards.

3D motion- Motion in a space. Like motion of a bird in sky.
