I think that You might be confusing velocity with acceleration. If the velocity is 10 m/s and you are not acting on the object to accelerate or decelerate it, it will still be traveling at 10 m/s forever.

If you meant to ask about an accelerating object, the measurement would have another time factor, such as meters per second, per second. This case would show a change in the velocity and the object that was traveling at 10m/s when first observed would be traveling at 210 m/s (assuming no loss of speed due to air resistance)
