Hii!

Mucous is a slippery viscous liquid made out of cells ,salts and glycoproteins called mucins. It's usually seceated by goblet cells of epitheluim of mouth(saliva) ,pharynxs, stomachs ect.. it's helps to protects stomach acids from digesting itself and reduce friction.

Eosophagus is a muscular tube from throat (pharynxs) to stomach. It's where food is passed down from. It has perstaltic movements due to smooth muscles helping bolus of food pass down

Pharynxs is the common passage of digestive and respiratory tract. Both inhaled. Air and swallowed food meet here. Largnxs with voice box is below pharynx. Then path decided to 2 tubes trachea and eosophagus. The air goes to trachea. While food goes to easophagus. Epiglottis prevent food from going down trachea

I don't know how old you are so I wasn't sure whether you are asking a basic question or a detailed one. I hope this helps. This is what I learnt at school.

Answer:

1. Mucus is a slippery aqueous secretion produced by, and covering, mucous membranes. It is typically produced from cells found in mucous glands, although it may also originate from mixed glands, which contain both serous and mucous cells.

2. The pharynx, commonly called the throat, is a passageway that extends from the base of the skull to the level of the sixth cervical vertebra. It serves both the respiratory and digestive systems by receiving air from the nasal cavity and air, food, and water from the oral cavity.

3. The Oesophagus is the thin long muscular tube that extends and leads into a J-shaped bag-like structure called stomach. A muscular gastro-osephageal sphincter regulates the opening of oesophagus into the stomach.
