generally multipurpose projects refers to dams,as they r useful in both agricultural and industrial sector.merits r electricity production, agriculture, increase in industrialisation.
Demerits r sedimentation at the bottom of the reservoir causes flood,inhabitant of that place has to displace,poor people r the sufferers. they also don't get enough compensation.
