Mutation breeding:
Mutation breeding is the process of plant breeding that uses different mutagens like chemicals or radiations that are used to cause mutation in plants to improve the quality or quantity of the harvest from the plants. These harvests are then used for betterment.
Examples include the long-grained rice called Jiafuzhan, which is a product of mutation. This was developed using ionizing radiations. It was developed inducing high radiation on the pollen grains of the plant and is a very stable mutation.
