Myogenic heart (Auto-rhythmic heart):

 Vertebrates have myogenic heart.

 Cardiac impulse originates in specialized cardiac muscle fibres and is not brought to heart by nerve fibres.

 Nervous system only alters rate of cardiac impulse generation.

 Myogenic heart continues to beat for some time even after taken out from body. Due to this property heart transplantation is possible in vertebrates including human.
